Ravi shankar good words

Divinity permeates everything in this Earth. Puja is not complete without honoring the trees, mountains, rivers, Earth and the people living on the Earth. Honoring everyone is Dakshina. Da means to give and Dakshina means giving something that will cleanse us of all impurities. Offering with which all your sins vanish. No puja is complete without Dakshina. When we act in society with skill and free from the distortions of the mind, all negative tendencies like anger, worries, sorrow are destroyed. I will say give your tensions, worries and sorrows as Dakshina.

Whatever you do, someone will criticize you. You will be blamed if you act, and even if you don’t act. If you speak, or don’t speak. You can’t keep pleasing everyone. If your focus is on finding shortcomings, either in yourself or in others, you cannot raise higher. Recognize that if someone gives a comment, reflect on it. If there is some truth, accept it. If not, then thank them and move on.

Lesson from ANT

Sometimes the biggest lessons in life come from the smallest folks around us. Read on to find out how:

All of us tend to look up to big people for lessons on how to get better. We are keen to learn the secrets of their success. But we forget that sometimes the biggest lessons in life come from the smallest folks around us. Now that's a good lesson to remember!

Take ants for instance. Would you believe those small creatures could teach us how to live a better life? Jim Rohn -- the great motivational guru -- developed what he called the 'Ants Philosophy'.

He identified four key lessons from the behaviour of ants that can help us lead better lives. Jim Rohn is no more but his messages continue to inspire. Here then, are the four lessons from Rohn's 'Ants Philosophy'.

1. Ants never quit.

Have you noticed how ants always look for a way around an obstacle?

Put your finger in an ant's path and it will try and go around it, or over it. It will keep looking for a way out. It won't just stand there and stare. It won't give up and go back.

We should all learn to be like that. There will always be obstacles in our lives.

The challenge is to keep trying, keep looking for alternative routes to get to our goals.

Winston Churchill [ Images ] probably paraphrased the ant's mindset when he offered this priceless advice: "Never give up. Never, never give up!"

2. Ants think winter all summer.

Remember the old story of the ant and the grasshopper?

In the middle of summer, the ant was busy gathering food for the winter ahead -- while the grasshopper was out having a good time. Ants know that summer -- the good times -- won't last forever. Winters will come.

That's a good lesson to remember.

When the going is good, don't be so arrogant as to believe that a crisis or a setback cannot happen to you.

Be good to other people. Save for a rainy day.

Look ahead. And remember, good times may not last, but good people do.

3. Ants think summer all winter.

As they suffer through the unbearable cold of the winter, ants keep reminding themselves that it won't last forever, and that summer will soon be here.

And with the first rays of the summer sun, the ants come out -- ready to work and ready to play.

When we are down and seemingly out, when we go through what looks like a never-ending crisis, it's good to remind ourselves that this too shall pass.

Good times will come. It's important to retain a positive attitude, an attitude that says things will get better.

As the old saying goes, tough times don't last. Tough people do.

4. Ants do all they possibly can.

How much food does an ant gather in summer? All that it possibly can! Now that's a great work ethic to have. Do all you can!

One ant doesn't worry about how much food another ant is collecting.

It does not sit back and wonder why it should have to work so hard. Nor does it complain about the poor pay!

Ants just do their bit. They gather all the food they can.

Success and happiness are usually the result of giving 100% - doing all you possibly can.

If you look around you, you'll find that successful people are those who just do all they possibly can.

Follow the four simple steps of Jim Rohn's 'Ant Philosophy' and you'll see the difference. Don't quit. Look ahead. Stay positive. And do all you can.

And there's just one more lesson to learn from ants.

Did you know that an ant can carry objects up to 20 times their own weight?

Maybe we are like that too. We can carry burdens on our shoulders and manage workloads that are far, far heavier than we'd imagine.

Next time something's bothering you and weighing you down, and you feel you just can't carry on, don't fret.

Think of the little ant. And remember, you too can carry a lot more on your shoulders!

ravi shankar good words

"Spiritual blossoming simply means blossoming in life in all dimensions - being happy, at ease with yourself and with everybody around you."

When there is boredom, there will be frustration also; they are twins. But if they dominate your life, that is misery. And if they just come as a fleeting moment and touches you and passes away, if they are like salt in your life, it's okay. It adds taste. But if the salt is taken for a meal, you have trouble.

If you want to grow in Divine Love, you have to drop the pride and all the artificial walls that we build between ourselves and others. Through these walls, we keep judging others, and we think others are judging us.

An uncommitted mind is miserable. A committed mind may at times experience rough weather but it will reap the fruits of its toil.

The ultimate purpose of life is to be of service.

The sattvic intellect is one that just does the job joyfully and is unmindful of the results. Let things happen or not happen---either way they don't lose their enthusiasm.

Abundance is a state of mind within you. If you just look at "lack," the lack increases in life. See what you have, and then abundance increases.

"Faith is realizing that you always get what you need. Faith is a giving the Divine a chance to act."

Whatever feeling is there in you at the moment, be with it one hundred percent. Share it with the Divine.

Love is that phenomenon of dissolving, disappearing, merging, becoming one with the infinite. Love is that phenomenon of total letting go.

Good analysis On MFI

MFIs will fail because they want money from money. Money cannot be produced from money. Money is a divine tool for happiness. You have to understand what happiness is before attempting to create it.you can give happiness only when you are a source of happiness. money just happens to be a tool in the process. everything today is measured in terms of money.if you depend too much on this measuring tool you will be miserable. both the giver and taker are bound to be miserable. if both of them understand the meaning of happiness by knowing each other's problems and needs and work toward a common happiness in which both can participate as a communion of love, then money will be seen as just a handy tool to reach higher and higher levels of happiness.
To give happiness, the giver needs to be at a higher consciousness level than that of the taker and should be willing to give everything for happiness. profits are just by-products

Short vacation.

Hi friends,

Back after a short vacation. This was much needed break for me as I was under stress both professionally and personally. A good trip for me. It was good by all means. Good temples where i get peace of mind. The best thing that brought energy back into my legs is, i have won two cases in high court taking my hand close to vishnu. Years of fight and finally justice to me. There is one more small case which should get closed fast and thats it we are on to the main case. The hurdles people have put to deny justice to me will get over. . I have no words to explain the happiness it brought. I have to address lot of issues this time particularly from personal life side. I will be able to put a calender for that and go ahead on working on it. I am a fighter and will fight till end.

Stock market is down in a bad way. Good time for you to enter friends. Who are there just hold. Bad times dont last long. Everything will be ok very soon.

I will come back with priorities of 2010 diwali to 2011 diwali soon so that they become measurable.

Time to put efforts by people who have exams to give a good performance.

Force is right

I was just thinking is force a right thing. America using force on iraq or afghanisthan. Srilanka using force on LTTE. India using force on maoists etc. I feel force is sometimes the right thing to do to get things into order. Had Srilanka not used force on LTTE the burning problem would have been like that only. Negotations were not taking any where. If we look at Kashmir problem where have negotations taken us. Daily innocent civilians getting killed. Look at Assam bodo thing.

It is not only in the international and state arena, look at simple things. All of us have been through schools. Had our teachers not used canes( force) discipline might not have been there.

Dont we face force in our jobs, we call that as stress. If you dont perform you are out. If organizations dont force our KRA's the organizations cannot sustain in long run.

Similarly in personal lifes if the head of family doesnot force disciplines or ideas the house leads towards failure. Most of the time i was against using the force, but after reading George Bush recent one and how he defended on use of force it was good. I have also learnt that force is not a bad thing and it should be used to keep things in order. If it is not used it will lead to failure of things be it personal or professional.

I personally feel its high time that i should learn this and start implementing.

The govt has changed in USA from republicans to democrats, but still policy remains same with minor alterations.

The way china used force against tibet is a live example we have next door.

The way force is used by ruling party against opposition in all states in india is an example of it. Down tamilnadu how force is used against jayalalitha is a live example.

Live and Lead with your heart

My personal life philosophy is that I live and lead with my heart. I believe that every experience in our lives touches us in ways that leave an imprint in our hearts. Sometimes, those imprints are painful and sometimes they are the things that mean the most us.

Life is about learning to love, to feel compassion, to find strength and determination, and to live through the experiences that make us who we are. All these things effect and touch the heart.

If you think about it, when you find someone or something or maybe even some issue that you are deeply touched by, that feeling hits the heart. When you see injustice or notice something that causes pain and hurt, that feeling hits the heart. When you decide that you are going to do your best to change or make a difference, those things come from your heart.

The best way I can think to explain it is this way. You see homeless children on the television, their suffering and pain touches you deeply. You then become compassionate about making the changes needed if only to help a few. You decide that you are going to do something to change this and so then you become determined. From that determination, you gain strength and from that strength, you pour your love into trying to make a change that will benfit others.

You have lead with your heart. The heart sees and feels love in many different ways. Those feelings guide you in making decisions and in sharing your life and life experiences with others.

I also believe that the true depths of people's values and morals live deep in the heart. Most people try to always logic things out and they change the nature of who they are. They listen to what other people say and don't follow what is truly inside them. Most people conform based on what others say and not on what is inside them. When they do this, they look back sometime later and have regrets because they didn't follow what they believed in their heart was the right thing for them to do.

The heart and pain

There are things I have gone through in my life that hit my heart hard. They hurt so bad and they left scars that I don't think will ever be forgotten. But those are a part of me. They are the imprints of who I am. The very things that lead to me to make decisions in my life that lead me to be the person I am.

I understand that I won't agree with certain choices other people make but that doesn't mean that their choices are wrong. It may be what is in their heart. I am not saying that you still don't have to use logic, but you can use logic and your heart to make the best choices for yourself.

Other people's views

Everyone is different when it come to their beliefs in religion, politics, and their culture. Just because I see those differences, doesn't make their way wrong. Their beliefs and convictions are from their heart. You can't force someone to change the way they believe because you disagree. There has to be a certain degree of tolerance and compassion in understanding those differences.

Your life is your own. Nobody has the power to take away what is in your heart. It is when you relinquish what you believe, when you compromise on what you feel, and when you don't listen to what you know in your heart is right, that you get yourself in trouble.

Ravi shankar good words

One thing we need to remember is that the whole story will be finished here! All of us will be gone! We will all go under ground. Life will come to an end, right? If we look back and see so many people we once knew are now gone. Those who were with us, they are all finished. More will go. Everybody will go and one day we will also be gone. This is the permanent truth, the definite truth in life.

Very Good one.- I personally liked it.

Next time someone starts to spread gossip, think of this:

In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was widely lauded for his
wisdom.

One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance who ran up to
him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about
one of your students?"

Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me I'd like you to
pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."

"Triple filter?"

"That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my
student let's take a moment to filter what you're going to say. The
first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are
about to tell me is true?"

"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and..."

"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or
not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what
you are about to tell me about my student something good?"

"No, on the contrary..."

"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about
him, even though you're not certain it's true?"

The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.

Socrates continued. "You may still pass the test though, because there
is a third filter - the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell
me about my student going to be useful to me?"

"No, not really..."

"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither
True nor Good nor even Useful,! why tell it to me at all?"

The man was defeated and ashamed.

This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such
high esteem.

Real life and virtual life.

Hello Friends,

Today i want to touch a good topic real life and virtual life. what is real life. In my view a real life is one where u had seen different phases of life. A person like me sitting in a non cyclone zone will not know what is cyclone and how it affects the people. See for last few days how cyclone havoc was making lifes of so many fisherman hit in bad way. you are not sure what will be its effect. Living in a sense of what is going to happen. When such a person narates his pain do i have the capability to visualize. None of us can have 100% experiences of real life. Have you seen poverty is a question which was asked to a guy born with silver spoon. Can u he visualize. Sometimes i feel i am lucky for i had gone through the phases of being poor, middle class and then today where i am. That gave me a chance to look at life very closely. It gave me a chance to interact with different personalities. I thank god for that. Had i been born in a rich house may be i would not have got these experiences. I could claim with a sense of pride that i know how to value a life. I can also say that as a person i know how to build into the life. virtual life is one where you are surrounded by people who just praise you. Like rahul gandhi he has his own set of people who praise him. Whenever he opens his mouth it throws stupidity like bangladesh was created by my grand mother etc or kashmir issues or micro finance etc. Real life comes with experience where as virtual life comes only by the luxuries.

Thank god you gave me a real life.

Trivikram- Director

Hello Friends,

It was a good to see trivikram, the movie director. It was so nice listening to his words. The best thing i liked was he was very cool when he is being grilled by the programmer. we think that the hero/heroine has done great job. The actual person who do it are people behind the screen. Think of paa movie, the actual hero is director who could visualize the things before we see and present it. Trivikram is a great director who has given great movies. I could have watched his movie 'athadu' more than 100 times on tv,in travel in bus etc. How the director has to visualize. Then he needs to pass on his visualization to the director of photography, similarly what type of sound he expects here, what type of background music he expects, what type of costumes he expects characters to wear. He needs to pass on what he is expecting from them. He needs to clearly articulate to the editor on how sequence has to go on. He needs to convince producer regarding the ROI for such things in movie. He needs to articulate to song writers what he is expecting from them. In short he has to be the most cool guy as his losing temper will create things bad and nothing more. Similarly a husband is the director of the house. He has to be cool headed to get a best thing for his house. A great lesson for me, thought of sharing with all like minded.

Good discussion at tea stall.

It was a good discussion at tea stall today in the morning. we feel that if we get transffered to south it will be good. North feel if they get transffered to north it will be good. Same to east and west. But importantly india is a country of multiple languages. If we go to south, tamilnadu has tamil and its culture. Kerala has malayalam lang and its culture, karnataka has kannada and its culture same to AP. similarly if we come to west maharashtra has marati and its culture, gujarat has gujrathi adn its culture, rajasthan has rajasthani and its culture. North has punjabi and its culture. kashmiri and its culture. bihari and its culture. Same goes to east wb with bengali its culture, assam with assami its culture.mizoram, nagaland etc and its cultures. As employees we find mostly our employment outside. If we can adapt to that places rather than feeling out of place we can find peace. it is the best policy rather being rigid. Rigidness always spoils life. Flexibility brings in joy and fun.

The Story Of Bhai Dooj

For Hindus, the story behind each festival play a very important role in the formation of their culture and have a very deep significance and values. Most of the Indian festivals are attached to specific characters and personalities that helps the masses to understand and know the true significance of the festival. Just like all important Indian Festivals, Bahi dooj also has a story to follow that have carved a niche with its unique presence and strength.

Through generations, the story of Bhai Dooj has been passed from generation to generation either by word of mouth or through carefully stored scriptures. The narration of the story marks the end of the Bhai dooj puja. Once the various rituals of Bhai dooj such as the sister applying the teeka on the forehead of the brother, giving him the eatables and in return receiving the gifts are over, the women and children sit around, to hear the story behind Bhai Dooj from the elders of the family.

The story goes that once there was a family living in a village that had only a sister and a brother. The sister was very elder to her brother, thus when she got married, the brother was at a very tender age. The boy did not remembered any thing about his sister's marriage. After the marriage, the sister never returned to her mother's home. As the brother grew up, the image of her sister started fading with each passing years. He terribly missed his sister, especially on the Bhai Dooj day, as he used to see his friends with teeka on their forehead and plates full of sweets.

On one particular Bhai dooj, when the boy had turned up into a handsome young boy, he inquired his mother about the reason as to why his sister never visited her original home after her marriage. The mother replied that she does not come because there is a big forest between this village and the one in which she lives and there is a big river flowing in between. One has to cross the river by boat and then there are wild animals which fill people with so much terror, that many people do not travel through the forest.

Inspite of knowing the immense difficulty he will have to face, the young brother decided to visit his sister on the next Bhai dooj day. The mother reminded him again of the dangers, but he did not listen, and so it was decided that he would go and visit her. When the time came she told him to tell his sister that she should now come over and choose a suitable bride for him.

The boy set off and on his way he faced the rising level of river, which made it impossible for him to cross the road. There was also the danger of snakes. The boy requested the river not to drown him and told the snakes that they can bite him on his return journey, after he meets his only sister. The snake agreed, and the boy proceeded. Now, he came to a mountain, which started through big stones on him, and he again pleaded with it to let him go. The mountain also agreed. When the boy was near his sister's village, a big tiger appeared and decided to eat him up. He also pleaded to the tiger and promised him that the tiger can feed on him on his return journey.

The poor boy knew now that is days were numbered, still, he eagerly went along to meet his only sister. He entered the house, and saw that she was doing the Bhai Dooj puja. The sister on seeing him after such a long time, welcomed her brother with a smile and embraced him. She at once brought lovely fruits and sweet meats to eat. She set about preparing kheer, puri, kachori, and lots of other tasty items. When her husband came after work, both of them provided a very enjoyable and memorable time to the young lad, so that he was full of joy.

Days passed, and it was time for the brother to take leave of his sister and brother-in-law. Before returning back, the brother narrated the whole incident to his sister and told her that his days were numbered and that he is soon going to die. The sister was shocked, but she decided to accompany him for the return journey. She secretly packed some meat for the tiger, some milk for the snake, flowers of silver and gold for the mountain and some roli and rice for the river.

Soon they were on their way and, of course, the tiger came first to eat up the brother. The sister gave him the meat and he went his way. Then came the mountain, which wanted to fall on her brother. She quickly performed puja with the gold and silver flowers and the mountain was very pleased with the offerings and stopped falling. Then it was the turn of the snake, and it was given the milk, and went away satisfied. They now reached the river and as was expected, it started to rise, but the sister subdued it by doing puja with roli and rice, and the river went down.

Both, brother and sister were very happy to escape the dangers of the forest and were anxious to reach home. The sister was now tired and thirsty. Soon she saw some gypsies working far away. She wanted to ask them for water, so the brother sat down under a tree-happy to be alive-and she went to the gypsies and got some water. Their the gypsies predicted that the danger was not over and her brother will die very soon. She asked them to tell her some way by which this calamity could be averted. One old woman came to her rescue and suggested that until her brother gets married, she should go on cursing him, right from now on and continuous to curse him all through the wedding and also insists on getting all rituals done to her first, only then this boy can be saved.

As soon as she reached near her brother, she started to curse him and to abuse him. The poor fellow was taken by surprise, but she continued calling him bad names. This thing continued even when they reached home. The mother, along with the villagers were very surprised at the nasty behavior of the sister, but no said anything as she was married and had came to her mother's place after a long time.

Soon, the brother's marriage was fixed to a beautiful girl. Still the sister went on cursing on any pretext. Everyone wanted the wedding to be over as soon as possible and the sister to be sent back to her village. On the wedding day, she insisted that all rituals be performed on her before her brother. The sister insisted that they tie the sehra on her forehead first. She found a small snake in the sehra instead of a string. She pulled out the snake. Next, the sister insisted that the barat (marriage procession) should go from the back door and not from the front door and no decorations be made. When the barat was to start, somehow the sister had fallen asleep. Ignoring her words, the barat started from beautiful front porch. But, no longer had everyone gather, the whole porch fell down, and narrowly missed the groom.

Now the time for the pheras (going round the fire) arrived and the sister had again gone to sleep. As soon as the first round of the pheras was done, the boy fell down in a dead faint, because of the evil spirits who had come to take him away. The sister woke up on hearing the noise and came cursing in to the courtyard. Hearing the abuses and seeing her blazing eyes, the evil spirits fled. It was now time for the boy and the girl to give kheer to each other. They let the sister have the first morsel from which she took out a hedgehog's spiked needle and quickly put it in her tiny bag as well.

The wedding was finally over and every one including the mother and brother were keen to see the sister leave. Before leaving for her husbands place, the sister narrated the prediction of the gypsies and gave the reason for her bad behavior. Everyone had tears in their eyes and they hugged her feet, and all present said with one voice: 'Let everyone have a sister like this, who is willing to be talked ill of, and will go about looking wild and angry even during a wedding, although it was to be the only wedding in the family - all this just to save her brother and family from disaster.

Thus, the custom is prevalent that a brother does not go to his sisters house for the teeka; instead the sisters bring or send the teeka to the brother, as danger may lurk on the way.

Diwali 2010.

A very happy diwali. Enjoyment and fun. There are few good things i would like to share. I take this from my sister. she stays at hyderabad with brother in law, their parents, kids. My sister's sister in law also stays at hyderabad. My parents also stay at hyderabad. The bes thing for my sister is the support of in laws. The support they extended when she was at chennai, vishakapatnam, kurnool etc is hard to say any thanks. The day my sister started her new life I said treat your inlaws as our parents. Their help is more needed in life than ours. I said if myself and BIL comes to house at same time and if i ask water and BIL asks for coffee, i said first make coffee and then only serve me water. One more important thing is the advises of father. A father plays an important role. He has never encouraged any complaint when it comes. Who can forget the role of father, randhir kapoor slapping karishma kapoor in a mall when she came back to mumbai leaving her husband. That slap has kept her marriage in tact. Had randhir encouraged her, she would have been like her mother babitha who was encouraged by her mother. This diwali when paddu , in laws, kids, sister in law everybody assembled at single place it was great joy. The true spirit of festival has come out. when u celebrate that way it is a great fun. The next person i had listened talking good of her inlaws was the elder sister of my employee from chandigarh. Her words and thought was similar to paddu. The reason why i see petluri girl having happy lifes including my sister(15) in number is their love and affection for their in laws and helping the families to grow where they have been married.

I wish all the girls work this way to have happy diwali's in their homes and have the true fun in word and deed.

May god bless vishnu all with this type of happiness.

diabetic do and donts

Diet plays an important role in the treatment of diabetes. The diet plan of an individual is based on height, weight, age, sex, physical activity and nature of the disease conditions. Here are some DOs and DON'Ts for managing diabetes.

Drink plenty of water. Water is important for everybody, but especially for diabetics because decrease of the hydration-level can cause serious health problems

Eat 20 - 25 grams of raw onion daily. Onions contain properties that actually fight against diabetes. It also aids digestion besides serving as a diuretic

Try to switch to herbal tea rather than caffeinated tea.

Try to choose low or non-fat varieties over full-fat dairy products, as they are lower in saturated fat and cholesterol

Eat at least 3 servings of fresh vegetables daily. Vegetables that can be consumed in larger quantities by diabetics are cabbage, mint, spinach, bitter gourd, lady's finger, cauliflower, cucumber, carrots, radish, onion stalk and pumpkin

Current recommendations for diabetics are to take plenty of fruits and vegetables, as naturally occurring fruit sugar (fructose) is more slowly absorbed than sucrose, and raises the blood glucose to a lesser extent. Very sweet fruits (mango, banana, chikoo etc) can be taken in small portions, along with a meal to reduce the spike in blood glucose

It is very important to never skip any meal. It is easier to keep blood sugars stable if you eat your meals at the same time everyday.

Avoid eating or drinking anything containing a lot of sugar likes cakes, sweets, chocolate etc.

Stop eating fried or fatty foods. Try baking or broiling the food instead of frying.

Avoid eating large quantities of lots of rice, potatoes, bananas as these can raise your blood sugar level.

You can take dairy products like milk and yoghurt but avoid fatty products like butter, cheese, ghee etc. It is better to use low fat milk or skimmed milk

Diabetes can put you at increased risk for hypertension and cardiovascular complications. Try to reduce the intake of salt in your food

Commited Employee.

Hello friends,

Today i felt happy to see a committed employee. As usual i went to one of my friends office to tell happy diwali to him. It was good to see an employee who turned out for the laxmi puja. Putting oil in the diyas and placing them at different places. A day before doing decoration into the office. Singing the bhajan when puja is being done. Dressed up traditionally in the saree when any organization has such commited employees it feels good. I enjoyed this goodness today and felt happy for that. Thought of sharing this with all of you so that you can become committed employees to organization and help your respective organizations grow from day to day.

Stress and High BP

Discover how stress can relate with high blood pressure. Stress can be an important cause of high blood pressure.

Stress can make blood pressure go up for a while, and it has been thought to contribute to high blood pressure. But the long-term effects of stress are as yet unclear. Stress management techniques do not seem to prevent high blood pressure. However, such techniques may have other benefits, such as making you feel better or helping you to control over-eating thus helping in decreasing your blood pressure..

Remember Your blood pressure increases remarkably when you are under physical or emotional stress. If you constantly feel "stressed out," your body may maintain an abnormally high level of responsiveness, creating an artificially induced state of high blood pressure.

Exercise can also cause stess, but Unlike exercise, which provides your body with well-controlled physical stress for a limited amount of time, chronic stress does not benefit your circulatory system. Rather, it increases your risk of illness. However, stress is very much a part of modern life, and it can be hard to control the amount of stress in your life without changing your daily habits significantly.

what are the ways to control your stress? Many persons do follow these habits to relieve from stress—eating, drinking alcohol, and smoking—contribute to the development of high blood pressure. You may wish to use exercise to manage your stress. Failing that, you may need to seek counseling to help you change how you think about certain things that cause you to be stressed, or to learn relaxation techniques. Relaxation techniques, including progressive muscle relaxation and transcendental meditation may help reduce mild high blood pressure.

What stress do to your Heart? Stress has noticeable effects on the cardiovascular system. Who hasn't felt their heart beat faster because of stress or anxiety? Chronic stress can result in high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, strokes, heart attacks, and other cardiovascular system disorders.

Keep in mind that Stress is a leading cause of high blood pressure. Even a small stress response causes blood vessels to constrict. Research is unlocking a complex relationship between stress, high blood pressure and the cardiovascular system. Some studies has proved this fact that stress is deeply related with high blood pressure.

Strokes and High Blood Pressure
Recent studies have brought to light how stress and high blood pressure influence the chance of a stroke and transient ischemic attacks. A study in the June 2003 edition of Stroke draws a connection between the severity of stress-induced blood pressure changes and the risk of strokes. Danish study supports this finding: the study discovered that middle-aged men who reported high levels of stress were twice as likely to suffer a fatal stroke compared to men who reported low stress levels. As little as one incident of stress a week doubled the chance of a stroke.

Atherosclerosis
Atherosclerosis occurs when fat, cholesterol, and plaque deposits build up and clog the cardiovascular system's blood vessels. Arteries become thick with this process. If atherosclerosis affects blood vessels leading to the heart, the disease is referred to as coronary artery disease.

High blood pressure , cholestrol, smoking and diabetes are important risk factors for High blood pressure. Stress may also be a contributing factor. An Ohio State University study discovered that stress slows the body's metabolism of triglycerides, a type of fat linked to cardiovascular system disorders, including heart attacks. By slowing the metabolism of triglycerides, stress allows the fat to remain in the blood longer, a factor that may speed up atherosclerosis development.

Relaxation Techniques: Protecting the Cardiovascular System
Relaxation techniques can help minimize the effect stress has on the cardiovascular system. Research has noted that breathing exercises and meditation help control high blood pressure, and may even have a preventative effect. Development of atherosclerosis can also be delayed by relaxation techniques. Regular meditation, breathing exercises and other techniques can help to lower the level of oxidative chemicals in the blood, which in turn lowers the risk of atherosclerosis and thus maintaining your blood pressure with in normal limits.

Good act by sachin.

Ahmedabad: After a day at the nets practicing for the forthcoming Test match in the city against the Kiwis, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar found time to meet his old buddy, Dalbir Singh Gill. He was delighted to see Gill back on his feet and walking without crutches.

Dalbir was in coma for six months after meeting with a near fatal motorbike accident in 2002 near Nadiad. Even after regaining consciousness, he was bedridden for almost eight years. He has recovered completely now and his life is back on track, thanks to the generosity of his friend, Sachin, who paid Rs6 lakh for Dalbir's hip replacement surgery.

Dalbir and his family met Sachin on Monday evening and wished him a happy Diwali. The Gill family had brought Sachin a box of chocolates and an idol of Lord Hanuman, both gifts expressing their affection for him.

"I chose Lord Hanuman's idol as a symbol of the affection I feel for him," said Dalbir. "I feel the same way towards Sachin as Lord Hanuman felt towards Lord Ram." Sachin had invited Dalbir and his family on Monday evening to a private meeting in his hotel room in the city and had spent around 40 minutes with them.
Dalbir works as a marketing executive for a chocolate company now. "I have been able to start a second innings in life only because of your help," he told Sachin during the meeting.
Dalbir, his mother, Sukhdaya Kaur, sister Sukhbir, her two kids, Simran and Gagandip, and Gill's brother, Prabjit, shared memories of their friendship. When Sukhbir's kids bowed to touch Sachin's feet for his blessings, the cricket legend instantly said, "Not my feet. Pair to uparwale ki chhuo."

Dalbir's mother said Sachin was a god-like figure for her family. "He paid from his own pocket for my son's treatment," she said. "He gave the money not as charity but out of affection for his friend. I have always seen the spark affection in his eyes for my son."

Facebook generation loneliest among all age groups

London: Britain's 16- to 24-year-olds, the so-called Facebook generation, are lonelier than any other age group, even pensioners.

One in three said they were bored with their lives, compared to just eight percent of pensioners, and 28 percent complained that loneliness was making them unhappy.

More than a quarter revealed they turned to alcohol for comfort, and half admitted to using junk food as an emotional crutch, reports the Daily Mail.

The depressing picture of life for young people in Britain emerged from a survey into national happiness levels, conducted for BBC Radio 3.

Asked what made them unhappy, 70 percent of the Facebook generation said finances topped their list of concerns.

More than a third were worried about holding down a job, compared to a quarter of middle-aged respondents.

One in three said they were tormented by family or relationship problems, and they were also the age group that were most likely to struggle over their social status.

Overall, money was the biggest cause of unhappiness across all age groups, above work, relationships and loneliness.

But while older age groups shared the Facebook generation's finance fears, they were more fulfilled in other areas of their lives.

Almost a third of the youngest generation reported they had relationship problems, which dropped to just eight percent among 55 to 64-year-olds.

Behavioural psychologist Jo Hemmings said: "Real friendships are made through shared experiences and bonds. Some social networking "friends" are barely even acquaintances, without any real meaning or intimacy."

Short temper.

Short temper is not a disease kind of stuff,it is just a human phenomenon where a person feels any thing is happening wrong with her.

The remedial solution for this is to be cool calm & trying to avoid things which are not benificial to person.

1. divert ur mind
2. address the problem/ stress with some new way
3. delaying ur reaction time
4. remembering Newton Law avery action has a reaction

Try to spend some time in pranayama and meditation daily in the morning for 30 minutes.

Try looking at ur reflection when u shout...or after u shout...u will know hw ugly it is...besides ul feel dreadful after shouting at someone...words once spoken cannot be taken back.So try not to let ur emotions overcome you and instead put urself in the other person's shoes....be positive and always look at the brighter side of life....life is too short and shouldnt be wasted coz of trivial issues....!

Due to over hydration the functioning of the brain slows down ie. movement of the neurons slows down. That causes short temper and irritation. Short temper - because we expected the results (by brain processing) to be there and it does not reach in time. When there is mismatch of timing again and again we feel short tempered and irritation because of delays.

1. Remember that the reward for patience is happiness.

2. Realize that things can be handled well at all times; it's just a matter of what kind of attitude you put into it. Take deep breaths.

3. Realize that no one likes to be around people who get angry easily, and act abusive. The only way you can change the situation is by starting with yourself.
4. Be considerate of others, and ultimately, yourself. The way you react will ultimately affect your surroundings. If you have to rebuke someone for doing something wrong, you can always do it calmly, in a private place. This method is always better for everyone in the long run.
5. If you are angry and you are standing, sit down, if you are sitting then lie down.
6. Remember, 5 seconds stand between you and logic, count to 5, and remember that logic always beats anger.
7. Stop talking to that person for a few minutes to whom you are angry and take deep breath around 5-7 times.
8. Think about the good things that person has done for you. What bad have you done to them? Chances are, you've done at least something to them to make them resentful towards you. Make sure you have a clear conscience-then speak.
9. Temper can ruin anybody's life. When your eyes are opened it might be too late, so try to control your anger and follow the above steps. It will definitely get you away from tension.
10. Count from 1 to 10 in ascending order and then descending order, you will feel a bit calmer.
11. Saying hurtful things could be very risky and dangerous and it can hurt someone's heart so please stay calm when you feel hyper.

Hope it will help people as i feel it is useful for people. The only thing that i always say in life is be practical.
